For non-German speaking vegans, vegetarians and those interested in the subject.
Are you planning a trip to Germany/Austria/Switzerland or even planning to live in the German-speaking area? Not sure about where to find animal-free products or the best vegan restaurants? Searching for friends, guides or simply like-minded people?
Then this forum is the place to be! Feel free to open a new thread, ask your questions and/or discuss your favourite topics.

This forum offers the possibility to exchange information, tips and knowledge around the subject of veganism and animal rights as well as meeting new people online and/or in real life.

However, subjects such as veganism and animal rights always have to potential for hot discussions so that rules/guidelines seem to be indispensable. This is not to be another community where vegan and anti-vegan people or even vegans, vegetarians and animal rights people fight a war with each other.

Therefore:

Welcome:
+ Discussions pro AND contra veganism and vegetarianism
+ Exchange of tips, information and recipes related to these subjects
+ Information and coordination of (legal) animal rights activities
+ Smalltalk in areas intended for it
+ Criticism and suggestions for the forum
+ An appropriate conversational tone

Unwanted
- Spam and provocation
- Insulting users for being vegan
- Insulting users for not being vegan enough
- Private disputes carried out publicly (this forum offers the possibility to write personal messages and ignoring posts by certain users)
- Calls for illegal activities as well as links to illegal contents
- Obtrusive offtopic-talk in ontopic-discussions
- It is important to point at animals suffering in factory farms, experimental laboratories etc., however, please do only link to corresponding photos and videos and do not show them directly in the thread so that everyone can decide on their own what they want to watch.

Censorship
In many vegan forums, censorship seems to be exercised in a rather questionable way by mods and admins. We want to avoid that here. However, experience shows that such a forum does not work without any censorship, especially since the operator can be held responsible for postings of “their” users. Furthermore, this forum should not become a platform for any discriminating shit or private “wars”.
Since the operators attach importance to transparence, please find below the criteria:

We will censore:
- Sexist, homophobic, racist, anti-Semitic slogans and insults
- Spam
- Commercial links posted by users with less than 20 posts
- Rude personal insults and defamations
- Calls for illegal activities
- Links to illegal contents

We will not censore:
- Criticism about the forum and the operator (unless this “criticism” belongs to one of the a. m. categories)
- Criticism about veganism, vegetarianism and animal rights/anit-speciesism (unless, see above)

Criticism and suggestions regarding the guidelines can be posted here.

Words in red colour to be discussed, pls. And feel free to comment on my bad use of prepositions or any other strange use of the English language.

ich hab Rechtschreibkleinigkeiten korrigiert (censor statt censore, anti-semitic statt anti-Semitic, etc), ist das ok? Bei größeren Sachen würd ich vorher fragen.

ach ja: mir schien "advice" deutlich passender als "tip". "tip" wird mehr als "Trinkgeld" verwendet, und "advice" ist da üblicher, schien mir.

ps. oups, crap, das wird ja tatsächlich auch "anti-Semitic" geschrieben bzw. sind beide Formen üblich. Ich kannte bisher nur "anti-semitic". Soll ich rückgängig machen oder so lassen?

Ich finds gut und würde im letzten Satz auch noch das "wars" streichen und einfach "fight with each other" schreiben.

Das ist ja die Übersetzung der Phrase "sich gegenseitig zerfleischen". Das ist natürlich einerseits ills Wortwitz, andererseits soll damit glaub ich gemeint werden, dass da einfach ohne Sinn und Verstand verbal aufeinander eingedroschen wird. Dass Veganer und AVs miteinander "fight" bzw diskutieren, wird ja begrüßt. Ich finde allerdings, dass "wars" das nicht wirklich gut ausdrückt. Also irgendwie müsste ausgedrückt werden, dass unkonstruktives verbales gegeseitig verdreschen nicht erwünscht ist.

Vllt "We don't want to be another community where vegans and anti-vegans fight the usual unrelenting two-front war – or, even worse, where vegans, vegetarians and animal rights activists battle against each other."
